Tammy Jean McAleese

Tammy Jean McAleese, age 46, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 3, 2022. Born in Lewisburg, PA on January 31, 1976, she was a daughter of Timothy W. Feaster (Ora) and Barbara Lilley (Mike). Tammy graduated from Millville High School in 1994 as class valedictorian. She then earned her Bachelor of Science Engineer degree from Penn State University in 1999. Following graduating from Penn State, Tammy went on to work at PECO Energy as a System Engineer, as well as Conectiv as an Engineer, and she currently worked with Delmarva Power as a Manager. Dedicated to her faith and community, Tammy was an active member with several different organizations including, Professional Engineer with the State of Delaware, Delaware Sangerbund, Shriners Hillbilly Clan, and Ladies of Nur Shrine. She attended New Castle United Methodist Church where she loved teaching Sunday school. Tammy enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting, and crafting, especially creating seasonal lighted bottles and decorations. She took joy in going to cars shows, boating, and she loved the beach. Tammy proudly lived a healthy lifestyle. She treasured her time spent on her dad’s farm and helping all family members and friends. Spending time with her family and always being the cheerleader for her kid’s activities, gymnastics, baseball, basketball, and dance was most important to her. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Edith Feaster, and Marlyn and Jean Lilley. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved husband of 14 years, Joe McAleese; loving children, Joey McAleese, and Kayla McAleese; siblings, Kris Havens (Chad), Josh Fitzberger (Mandy), Bill McAleese (Tina), Pat McAleese (Carol), and Michelle McAleese; mother-in-law, Violet Landers (Keith); nieces and nephews, Tyler, Camille, Ethan, Rachael, and Tabitha; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at New Castle United Methodist Church, 510 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. A second visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Buffalo Community Church, 4445 Hoffa Mill Road, Lewisburg, PA, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, 1875 Churches Road, Lewisburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tammy’s memory to Susan G.
