Rosemary Ann "Gram" Keating

Rosemary Ann “Gram” Keating, 79, of Chestertown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Peter Charles and Marie Rose (Barrile) Pistorio. Gram was in the first graduating class at Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA. Following graduation, she spent several years working in the automobile repair business and as a stay-at-home mom. Gram was the youngest in her neighborhood, and was always taking care of her older friends. In August of 1986, she moved with her family to Chestertown, MD, where she worked in various professions, making many new friends who ultimately became family. In January of 2004, Gram, along with her daughter and granddaughter, opened Dependable Eye Care. From this endeavor, she helped many patients who she treated like family. Gram touched many lives everywhere she went, making lifelong friendships. For many years, she taught Sunday School at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Gram enjoyed traveling locally and back home to Philadelphia. Dedicated to her faith, she attended Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Of all her passions, her great-granddaughter brought her the greatest joy. Even during her illness, Gram always shared words of wisdom and warm, loving hugs. She will always be remembered as a loving and generous individual. She is survived by her daughter, Linda R. Keating; granddaughter, Rosemarie L. Lobley-VanZant (Brett); great-granddaughter, Marie VanZant; special granddaughter, Jaclyn Nuckels (Sam Barker), and many dear friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm, on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Our Mother of Sorrows, 303 Chesterfield Ave, Centreville, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 pm. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA on Monday, September 27, 2021.
