Ronald L. Speck Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Born: 11/13/1943 Died: 9/13/2011 Mr. Ronald L. Speck, age 67, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Born in Waynesboro, VA, on November 13, 1943, Ronald was the son of the late Carl N. and Gwendolyn F. Speck. He made his career as a professional lab technician with Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA, where he retired in 2008 after many years of service. Active in his community, he was a longtime volunteer with the Mended Hearts support group at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. In his leisure hours, Ronald greatly enjoyed golf and bowling. Well known for his kind and compassionate nature, he delighted especially in spending time with his family whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his beloved companion of 27 years, Sharon Davis, and his brother, J.C. Speck. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Roberts, Karin Giannetti, Lisa Stephey, and Tara Nowak; sister, Janet Mitchell (Gil); grandson, Jon Speck, and twelve other devoted grandchildren; and two great granddaughters. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
