Paul A. Sayers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Paul A. Sayers, age 72, of Coatesville, PA went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 28, 1941, Paul was a son of George A. Sayers and Mildred Petrucci Sayers. He made his career with DuPont and worked at the company’s Experimental Station site for many years until his retirement. A longtime member of the West Wilmington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Paul oftentimes volunteered his time and talents there. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking and camping. Paul was happiest in the company of his beloved family, who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, George. Paul is survived by his mother, Mildred of Newark, DE; sons, Michael Sayers (Becky) of Clayton, NC, Mark Sayers (Tammy) of Kents Store, VA, Todd Sayers (Sharon) of Louisa, VA, Tim Sayers (Mary) of Pax, WV, and Wade Sayers of Lewisburg, WV; brother, William E. Sayers of Coatesville, PA; former wife, Linda Sayers; 5 grandchildren; and his lifelong friend and hiking companion, Hawk Vankavilaar. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday afternoon, April 11, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 1 pm until 2 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
