Paul V. Reach Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Born: 12/3/1931 Died: 4/1/2012 Mr. Paul V. Reach, age 80, of Newark, DE, formerly of Succassuna, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Reach was born in Scranton, PA, on December 3, 1931, son of the late Alfred W. Reach, Sr. and Jule Healey Reach. He made his career with Curtis Circulation Company, a magazine distribution firm in New Milford, NJ, where he retired as a divisional sales manager after 42 years of service. A devout Roman Catholic throughout his life, Mr. Reach was a longtime member of Holy Family parish, where he served as an usher. He was also active in St. Michael Council #4548 of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Reach delighted in spending time with his family and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and solving puzzles with them. He was an avid fan of both the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Christine M. Williams Reach; son, David J. Reach of Albany, NY; daughter, Pamela A. Diksa (Paul) of Newark; sisters, Helen Davidson of Tonawanda, NY, and Marian Tomko of Dunmore, PA; grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin, Kimberly, Jason, Kathryn, Kevin P., and Sean; and daughter-in-law, Karen Reach of Boynton Beach, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul J. Reach, and brothers, Alfred Reach, Jr. and Donald Reach. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, where a second visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Reach may be made to Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713.
