Mayra Alexandra Lopez, age 34, of New Castle, DE went home to the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2022. Born in Dover, DE on October 4, 1988, she was the daughter of Abraham “Tito” and Francisca “Francis” M. Lopez. Brother: Abraham Lopez III. Mayra graduated from William Penn High School. She had an interest in modeling that led her to attend Paul Mitchell School for cosmetology. She loved making people feel beautiful. Dedicated to her faith, Mayra was a longtime member at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mayra was known for her heart of gold. She loved love and her joyful disposition made her the life of the party. Mayra never met a stranger, and everyone was her best friend. Mayra was incredibly supportive and protective of everyone around her. Family meant everything to her, she valued her relationships with all her cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and highly respected and loved her late grandmother “Mami Olga”. Mayra was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Audrey. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Abraham Lopez III; grandparents, Abraham and Jerturis Lopez, and Olga and Jesus Morales; Godparents, George B. and Maria G. Laureta; Godson, Jackson A. Owens; Aunties, Veva Laureta, Aurora Beck, Jessavella Tricarico, Katie Pagan, Blanca Guzman, Elizabeth, Nancy Mulford, and Bertha Garcia; Uncles, George B Laureta, Ray Pagan, Eddie Mulford, Sam Laureta, Heron Garcia, and Chino Munoz. Cousins, Angelica, Ava, Adrian, Nicole, Jackson, Joshua, Amirah, Neveah, Jonathan, Aiden, Claudia, Noah, Olga, Carlos, William, Daniel, Michael, Tyson, Jonathan, Jaqueline, George, Jesus, Antonio, Sammi, Arabella, Tonya C, Kelsey, Joshua C, Elysha, Mark, Matthew, Amy, Ali, Veronica, Blanca, Margarita and 18 2nd cousins. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 801 North DuPont Boulevard, New Castle, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE. Don’t grieve for me for now I am free, I am following the path GOD laid for me.
