John (Pat) Patrick Bradley

It is with profound sadness that the family of Pat Bradley announces his sudden and unexpected passing on October 28, 2022, at age 82. Born July 3, 1940, in New Hope, Pennsylvania, Pat was one of four children of the late John and Mary Bradley. He is survived by Geri, the love of his life for 62 years. Pat was the proud loving father of Scott Bradley (Claudia) of Newark, DE and Megan Bradley (Alex) of Newark, DE. He is also survived by his three sisters, Jane Dietrich (Arlen dec.), Sue Manning (Jim) and Betsy Funk (Bud) along with many loved nieces and nephews. After graduating high school Pat enlisted in the Navy and served on the Destroyer U.S.S. Compton. During his time in the Navy, Pat was educated in the new field of computers. After serving he was hired by Burroughs (Unisys) where he spent his entire professional life. Pat was a humble man of very strong values and faith. He served Our Lady of Fatima Church in numerous capacities, the most fun of which was the June Fair. Everyone who knew Pat felt his big heart, selflessness, and genuine giving nature. A man who loved his family and friends he could always be found with a cheerful positive attitude, offering kind words and a bright smile. He truly loved people and enjoyed their company, everyone he met he treated as a friend. Pats level of intelligence and skill was amazing. A hard worker and perfectionist he always said if someone else could do it, so could he. Pat loved to read and learn new things. He had an extensive vocabulary which always helped him win when playing his favorite game of scrabble with family. Being a remarkable cook, he loved spending time in the kitchen creating meals for his family especially during the holiday season. Everything that he made was delicious, but his homemade barbecue ribs were to die for. Pats life was a testimony to how we should all live with others always coming first, treating people with kindness, and expressing patience and compassion. Throughout his life he earned the respect of so many because of his honesty, warm heartedness, and true generosity. We will miss you dearly with each passing day……. A mass will be offered on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 801 North DuPont Boulevard, New Castle, Delaware 19720. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish make a donation to Delaware SPCA, www.delspca.org, or Faithful Friends, faithfulfriends.us, in memory of Mickey, Cinder, Cosmo, Diamonds, Sherman and Cheyenne, as there was never an animal that did not bring a smile to Pat’s face.
